Inspired by the corner piece of the keyboard, Backspace emerges as the reincarnation of my previous, innominate blog. So, what's changed?
Backspace's new design draws inspiration from the aesthetics of PostBoard. Incorporating Pangram Pangram's Editorial New and Pablo Impallari's Libre Franklin fonts, the design's use of color and whitespace forge Backspace's minimalistic and flat appearance.
The bedrock of Backspace's operations remains in Firebase Functions, enabling a cost-friendly, serverless framework. Moving away from proprietary server-side rendering, the shift to EJS has supercharged the frontend with greater security and reliability.
Backspace has been rewritten in TypeScript, involving new development and deployment procedures.
Previously, editing posts involved logging into the Firebase Console and updating entries manually. Now I am able to sign in and oversee all of my posts from anywhere, granting unprecedented flexibility into the writing process.
Heralding a new era, Backspace is the long-awaited upgrade my blog desperately needed. I'm excited to use this platform to freely express my thoughts and feelings. Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
